The House system is an integral part of life at IPS School and aims to provide a sense of competition and fun through a range of schoolbased activities. All students are, throughout their school lives, attached to one of four houses, which are named after historical explorers in line with our school mission to encourage our pupils to become pioneers; each house is assigned a colour:
- Christopher Columbus: Green
- Vasco da Gama: Red
- Amerigo Vespucci: Yellow
- Marco Polo: Blue
House events run throughout the year with points being awarded for each event (see calendar). The running total of points is regularly updated and students and staff can follow their score onSchoolBase.
Although there are many events students can take part in, day-to-daywork and conduct can achieve points. Therefore, staff and students a like are encouraged to run any appropriate event/competition for the whole school or year group. The aim of the event can be to raise the profile of a subject or link with an event or international focus.
